Products and Updates

In furtherance of our quest to position our valued subscribers to rapidly indentify, assimilate and fashion timely responses to opportunities and risks presented by today's global and national economic environment, Economic Associates (EA) wishes to inform you that the following products and updates are now easily downloadable from our website

Economic Outlook

The slide show provides a comprehensive update on the Nigeria's economic outlook at the national, state, and sector levels, plus a balanced coverage of the relative importance of economic and political risks for the outlook at each level of the analysis. This slide show is complemented by a comprehensive set of monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts on all the key economic and financial variables in spreadsheets. The package will not only enable clients to increase their chances of success by positioning themselves to take advantage of opportunities highlighted at the sector, state, national and/or global levels in the forecasts, but they will also be able to considerably reduce their exposure to volatilities identified in this package.

Model and Database

Our Nigerian Economic Model is at the core of our effort to reduce the uncertainty faced by players in the Nigerian economic environment. The model, which can be used to generate company-specific or industry-specific scenarios over the short, medium or long-term, is available to clients interested in having in-house capability to assess the sensitivity of their business operations to rising volatility in several global and national economic variables.

Across the States

Our first-ever economic analysis of the 36 states provides subscribers with information specifically aimed at economic decision-makers in private and public sectors. The 230 page report presents the comparative overall and sectoral economic strengths of the 36 states at a glance, profiles the economic structures of the individual states, and evaluates the political, societal and security risks faced by business people in each state. Information on the various spheres of economic heterogeneity across the states provides useful input into the state penetration strategies of large businesses.

One day Conferences

To provide opportunities for our clients to exchange ideas on those factors that are most likely to reshape perceptions about Nigeria's economic outlook, we plan to host two conferences in 2008, one around midyear, and the other nearer the yearend.

  • Mid-Year Economic Assessment
Discussions at our midyear session in 2008 will focus on Economic Scenarios for Nigeria. The idea is to use the forum to assess the sensitivity of the macroeconomy, states, sectors, and companies to rising volatility in key global and domestic economic variables with a view to build a consensus on what needs to be done at each level to mitigate risks and take up opportunities presented by the volatilities in a timely fashion. Participants will have a choice of attending in Abuja (20 May 2008), Lagos (22 May 2008), or London (3 June 2008).

  • Economic Outlook in 2009
The subject of our yearend session is the economic outlook in the coming year. This session will be hosted only in Lagos on October 16 2008.
